Place and direction

| i | in | Jeg bor i Oslo. — I live in Oslo. |
| på | on / at | Boka er på bordet. — The book is on the table. |
| til | to | Jeg går til skolen. — I go to school. |
| fra | from | Jeg kommer fra Ukraina. — I come from Ukraine. |
| over | over / above | Fuglen flyr over huset. — The bird flies over the house. |
| under | under / below | Katten sover under bordet. — The cat sleeps under the table. |
| med | with | Jeg kommer med bussen. — I come by bus. |
| uten | without | Kaffe uten sukker, takk. — Coffee without sugar please. |
i or på?
i is used for cities and countries: i Oslo, i Norge
på is used for islands, workplaces and addresses: på Svalbard, på skolen, på jobb
