Norway has excellent public transport. Here are the words you need to get around:
Means of transport

| tog | /toog/ | Toget går klokka åtte. — The train leaves at eight. |
| trikk | /trik/ | Trikken stopper her. — The tram stops here. |
| taxi | /tak-si/ | Kan du bestille taxi? — Can you order a taxi? |
| sykkel | /sük-el/ | Jeg sykler til skolen. — I cycle to school. |
| båt | /bot/ | Vi tar båten til øya. — We take the boat to the island. |
| billett | /bi-let/ | Jeg trenger en billett. — I need a ticket. |
| forsinkelse | /for-sin-kel-se/ | Er det forsinkelse? — Is there a delay? |
Tip
Most Norwegians use the Ruter app (Oslo) or Skyss app for timetables and tickets. It is cheaper to buy your ticket in advance than paying on board. A single ticket for adults costs around 40 kroner.
